I Found So Many ‘Quiet Luxury’ Dresses at Walmart That I’ll Be Wearing All Summer |
Whether the term “quiet luxury” makes you think of high-powered fictional characters in blazers and wide leg trousers, or the way French women seem to always look effortlessly put together, one thing is for sure: the quiet luxury look isn’t going away anytime soon. Luckily, you can snag the style for far, far less than what said fictional characters have budget for: At Walmart. For those who need a quick recap, “quiet luxury” simply means designer and upscale fashion without the in-your-face labels. Generally, it’s well-tailored clothing, often times neutrals, and styles that look and feel “rich.” Tons and tons of brands and retailers knowingly or unknowingly hopped on the trend, and released elite-looking styles that mimic those of designers’ (also known as “dupes”). As a shopping editor, it’s my job to follow trends and recommend the best of the best, which is why I’m here telling you to look no further than Walmart for your luxury designer alternatives that look like “quiet luxury” this summer. And since the weather is heating up, I’m specifically hunting for some good summer dresses that fit the bill. Below are my favorites. |
Scoop, Keyhole Halter Dress | Okay, so you’ll see ONE bright and patterned dress on this list, and that’s because I love how much this one from Scoop is giving Rich Aunt at Graduation dress. It’s very sophisticated, the blue flower pattern isn’t too flashy, and the halter design elongates the neck — there’s just so much to adore here. Plus, I cannot get enough of pleated fabric, which is preppy and always something I see in designer dresses. |
Time and Tru, Textured Stitch Sweater Dress | It may be labeled as a “sweater dress” but this semi-fitted number is crafted from a cotton-polyester blend with knit detailing, so it’s actually very breathable. It’s soft, just casual enough, and it’s easy to just throw on (no zippers or buttons in sight!). It comes in four colors, but I instantly fell in love with the olive green option, since it’s still neutral but different from all my other solid dresses. |
No Boundaries, Juniors Maxi Dress | This simple, hip-hugging maxi dress is technically for juniors, but since it’s only ten bucks, I’m sizing up a size and going with it. Why not! It’s summer! I require at least one bright, simple maxi dress to wear to the beach or pool and not worry about messing it up, and this one would be so cute on a day trip or brunch with some strappy sandals. Made of polyester and a bit of spandex, it’s stretchy enough for comfort, but still flatters curves with its form-fitting design. |
Scoop, Sleeveless Satin Midi Tank Dress | This loose-fitting tank dress is truly stunning. If you like a more structured look, I’d recommend pairing it with a belt — but I personally love the drapey-ness look of it that feels so “oh, I just threw this on!” Totally machine-washable, this relaxed dress hits below the knees for more coverage, and comes in eight colors. I’d recommend something sparkly to go along with it (jewelry, or metallic sandals). |
Time and Tru, Square Neck Midi Dress | This square neck, slightly-puffy sleeved dress comes in white and navy blue options, and both are really pretty and versatile. It can easily work Monday through Friday in the office as well as warm weather activities during the weekend — just switch out those flats for flip-flops. Since it’s a linen blend, it’s ultra breathable, so we wouldn’t blame you if you end up wearing this dress all summer long. |
